Compass Group USA is hiring for a full-time FOOD UNIT LEAD at Commonwealth School in Boston, MA. Schedule is Monday–Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, with online applications accepted. Prior food service experience required, batch cooking experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Previous food service experience required.
• Previous experience in batch cooking preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates activities of other food-service employees to create an enjoyable dining experience.
• Oversees preparation and service of food and beverage items to meet standards for presentation, sanitation, safety and portion control.
• Ensures timely, efficient meal service and supervises serving of meals.
• Responds to customer complaints in person and via email to resolve issues.
• Trains staff; assigns and coordinates work; develops schedules and expedites workflow.
• Manages daily/weekly/monthly reports (inventory, cash, production records, payroll/timekeeping) and cash handling per policy.
• Orders food and supplies from approved sources, and ensures sanitation and safety per government regulations.
• Implements sanitation schedules and ensures cleaning of kitchen and dining areas.
• Issues instructions and participates in staff orientation and training.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
