Job Summary

Supervises and coordinates the activities of food service personnel engaged in meal preparation and service. Responsible for coordinating food acquisition and supervising related staff.

Essential Functions

1. Prepares work schedules and assigns personnel to meet production goals.
2. Inspects food orders for standards in presentation, temperature, and portioning; instructs staff accordingly.
3. Maintains records, reports, and files related to food production.
4. May order food directly from suppliers and evaluate supplier options for cost-effectiveness.

Qualifications

Education: Associate's Degree in Nutrition required. Experience may substitute for education.

Licenses and Credentials: ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred.

Experience: 5-7 years in food service, with 2-3 years in a supervisory role.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of supplies, equipment, inventory control, customer service, quality standards, work scheduling, staff training, safety procedures, and culinary facility maintenance.
