Job summary

Maschio's Food Service Inc. is seeking dependable Food Service Workers for school cafeterias in New Jersey. You will prepare and serve nutritious meals to a large student population, follow nutrition guidelines and portion standards, and help maintain a clean, welcoming dining environment for students and staff.

This is a Monday–Friday, day-shift role with no weekends or holidays and summers off. Qualifications include school cafeteria or institutional food service experience, knowledge of food

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school cafeteria or institutional food service.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with guidelines and portion standards.
• Assist with daily food prep including chopping, cooking, baking, and assembling meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, slicers, dishwashers, etc.).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving lines, storage areas and dining spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Stock, rotate food supplies, and minimize waste.
• Provide friendly, patient service to students and staff.
• Accommodate special needs and allergy restrictions as required.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and securing equipment.
