Qualifications

• Previous experience in a school cafeteria or institutional food service setting.
• Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices.
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
• Food Handler's permit or ServSafe Certification (preferred if applicable).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve nutritious meals in accordance with guidelines and portion standards.
• Assist with daily food prep including chopping, cooking, baking, and assembling meals.
• Operate kitchen equipment safely (ovens, slicers, dishwashers).
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen, serving lines, storage areas and dining spaces.
• Follow all food safety, sanitation and hygiene regulations (HACCP).
• Stock food supplies, rotate inventory, minimize waste.
• Provide friendly, patient service to students.
• Accommodate special needs and allergy restrictions as required.
• Assist with opening and closing duties, including cleaning and securing equipment.
