Job summary

The University of Vermont Health Network is seeking a Food Service Worker for a part-time role in the hospital setting. You will help prepare and deliver patient meals, wash dishes, and manage waste while supporting a clean, safe dining environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and strong English communication, plus dependable attendance and safety/sanitation knowledge. Prior fast-paced food service experience is a plus.

Job description

Please note that this is a part-time position. Variable shifts between 3:00 PM and 9:00 PM. Every other weekend is required.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Food Service Workers are essential in feeding everyone within the hospital. They help with:

• repairing a patient’s meal tray for delivery
• delivery of meals to patient rooms
• dishwashing
• separating trash/recycle/compost
• re-stocking supplies

Job routines require patient interaction, working as a team, the ability to stand and walk for long periods of time, and moving large carts throughout the hospital. Great attitude and navigation skills are helpful!

Education:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred, minimum 18 years of age.

Experience:

Prior experience in a high volume, fast paced food service environment is preferred.

Knowledge/Special Skills:
