WHAT WILL YOU DO:


This position is responsible will assisting with prepping, cooking, serving and working multiple stations, cleaning work area, utensils, dishes, storage area, making deliveries for multiple units, and performs general facility and equipment sanitation maintenance to follow local, federal, and state department guidelines.



The Food Service Worker I promotes excellence in customer service and promotes the interest and mission of Auxiliary and Support Services. The individual will maintain a high degree of pace and intensity for an extended period. This position may require the individual to be cross trained for another position and/or responsibilities to provide both back-up for a department as well as supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.



DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:



  • Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the facility.

  • Maintain and upkeep the silverware and condiments, assist cooks and prep in replenishment of product in the food service area.

  • Assists daily in trash removal, cleaning, and maintenance of the operation.

  • Assists in the organization, pick up, and cleaning of laundry area.

  • Properly cleans the cooking utensils and equipment; restocks all washed items in appropriate area.

  • Maintains the cleanliness of dish machines as well as dish areas.

  • Washes, sorts, replaces, and restocks flatware, serving dishes, china, glasses, and all other washable items.

  • Ensures the dish machine is properly cleaned and maintained throughout the shift.

  • Assists in the detail cleaning of the trash compactor, docking and extractor area.

  • Should be trained to appropriately use chemicals and cleaning agents.

  • Should perform all aspects of job in a timely manner.

  • Develops and adheres to operational procedures in assigned areas of responsibility.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • Physical Requirements: Extended standing, walking, ability to bend, stoop, reach and climb ladders.

  • Ability to lift 35 pounds.

  • Ability to work in all temperature conditions.

  • Flexible schedule to include nights and weekends.
