Minimum Qualifications

Requires technical knowledge in the field acquired through an apprenticeship, a 2-year degree, or professional certificate. Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.

Preferred Qualifications & Position Summary

Manual and semi-skilled routine work in food service duties, including preparation, service, cleaning, and sanitation. Responsibilities involve cooking, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality, and ensuring courteous service. Reports to the 4-H Dining Commons Manager.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and/or Competencies

• Plan and organize routine work details.
• Follow written and oral directions.
• Knowledge of food preparation and service methods.
• Understand and adjust basic recipes.
• Awareness of health hazards in food prep and safety measures.
• Care and use of food service equipment and utensils.

• Flexibility in working hours.
• Learn HACCP and food safety plans, assist in monitoring compliance.

Physical Demands

Bend, lift (up to 50 lbs), stand for long periods, work in heat and cold environments, and drive as needed.

Duties/Responsibilities

1. Prepare and cook food of good and safe quality with appealing presentation (50%).
2. Serve food, set up serving lines, interact with customers (35%).
