Job Description

The Food Service Worker at Southeastern Correctional Facility supervises inmates to ensure that meal and food items are prepared in accordance with production plans. Responsibilities include training workers, assigning work, and ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met. Responsibilities may vary based on location and client needs.

Job Responsibilities

1. Adhere to and maintain preparation and production guidelines according to Aramark standards.
2. Supervise inmates in food preparation and tray assembly.
3. Ensure timely meal service and compliance with guidelines.
4. Participate in meal preparation and serving.
5. Print and distribute recipes.
6. Train inmates on recipes and proper cooking procedures.
7. Ensure proper portions and dietary requirements are met.
8. Obtain and review daily population counts.
9. Follow security policies; secure storage areas and keys.
10. Manage work and sanitation schedules, oversee inventory and storage, and requisition supplies.
11. Participate in meal assembly and storage following HACCP policies.

Qualifications

• Must be over 18 years old.
• Preferably at least one year of food prep or related experience.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Experience working with inmates is a plus.
• Ability to motivate and supervise inmates and team members.
• Must obtain a food safety certification.
• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain correctional security clearance.

Physical demands include lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, walking, and standing. Uniforms and PPE may be required.
