Qualifications

• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift for extended periods (up to 40 lbs).

• Reliable attendance and willingness to work scheduled hours, including some overtime.
• Able to follow simple verbal and written instructions.
• Positive, can-do attitude and flexibility to jump in where needed.

Responsibilities

• Operate the dish machine and hand-wash pots and pans to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, and cookware.

• Keep the dish room clean, organized, and sanitized, including operating the Ecovim food dehydrator.

Position Summary

Gettysburg College’s Dining Services team is looking for a dependable, hardworking Food Service Worker to join our student dining center team!

Job Duties Include But Are Not Limited To:

• Operate the dish machine and hand-wash pots and pans to clean and sanitize dishes, glassware, silverware, and cookware
• Scrape, sort, load, and unload dishes and utensils throughout service
• Keep the dish room clean, organized, and sanitized, including operating the food dehydrator (Ecovim)
• Set up and maintain serving lines, ensuring food is labeled correctly and held at proper temperatures
• Serve menu items, restock supplies, and check meal cards as students and guests come through the line
• Clean and sanitize serving lines, coffee stations, and dining areas between meals
• Assist with special event setup, themed dinners, and catering as needed
• Perform light custodial duties and other tasks as assigned

Status: Full-Time, Support Staff
