Job summary

Mercy is hiring a Food Service Worker I to support hospital dining operations. You will perform non-cooking tasks such as dishwashing, cold prep, salad production, serving, tray passing, and general cleaning while ensuring quality service for patients and visitors.

Applicants should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in a service environment, with strong English reading/writing skills and reliable attendance.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
• Minimum of 1 year experience in a service-related environment/industry.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.

Responsibilities

• Washes dishes and handles general cleaning.
• Assists with cold prep and salad production.
• Serves and cashes, passes trays, loads carts, and supports receiving.
• Maintains courteous communication with patients, guests and staff.

Position Details

Preferred Education: High School Diploma or Equivalent.

Preferred Work Experience: Minimum of 1 year experience in a service-related environment/industry.

• Is courteous, considerate and cooperative when communicating with all patients, guests, team members, and hospital personnel.
