About This Position

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for supervising inmate labor and team members assisting with food service in a correctional facility. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of food items according to work instructions and menus, utilizing food preparation utensils and machines.

Essential Functions/Core Responsibilities

• Supervise inmate labor and/or team members during food prep and service shifts.
• Prepare or instruct on the preparation of quality foods per menu and recipes.
• Ensure proper storage and sanitation of food.
• Serve food according to schedule and policies.
• Use kitchen utensils and equipment to prepare and serve food, meeting nutritional and portion standards.
• Follow food safety regulations.
• Train other food service workers.
• Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
• Follow uniform policies and sanitation procedures.
• Perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
