Part Time Food Service Supervisor

Position Summary: Assist Food Service Director in planning, organizing, developing, and directing the overall operation of the Dietary Department in accordance with current federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations governing our facility. Ensure quality nutritional services are provided daily and that the dietary department is maintained in a clean, safe, and sanitary manner. Responsible for training and supervising dietary personnel.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of a food safety course approved by New York State (e.g., ServSafe)
• Experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital, skilled nursing care facility, or related medical facility is a plus
• Leadership qualities and ability to work harmoniously with/and supervise nonprofessional personnel
• Ability to maintain supplies and equipment, inspect food service areas for sanitation, order safety, and perform duties in the absence of the Food Service Director

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist in hiring, training, and performance reviews of staff
• Ensure compliance with nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards
• Complete forms and reports as per departmental policies
• Manage supply inventory, assist with scheduling and receiving deliveries, supervise storage
• Maintain cleanliness in kitchen, storeroom, and resident pantries
• Check residents’ trays for consistency with menus and assist on tray line when needed
