Job summary

The Association for Individual Development is seeking a Food Service Tech to train clients in basic food service skills and cooking, split 50/50 between Aurora and Elgin locations. You will supervise and educate Residential Staff on cooking, meal planning, and nutrition under a licensed dietician.

AID offers training and development, with a strong focus on community-based outcomes. Responsibilities include program delivery, menu development, documentation, and ensuring clean, safe kitchen

Qualifications

  • High School education or equivalent.
  • Current Certification in Food Service Sanitation.
  • ServSafe Certification within 30 days of Employment.
  • At least one year of experience in Food Service.
  • Experience with persons with developmental and/or behavioral health disabilities preferred.
  • Must be able to lift or move up to 50lbs.
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license and driving record per AID requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide programming 50% of the time in Aurora and 50% of the time in Elgin.
  • Train clients in food service skills using client-centered instruction.
  • Instruct Residential Staff in cooking, meal planning and nutrition.
  • Develop nutritionally sound menus as teaching tools.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of client programming.
  • Develop and follow a daily kitchen cleaning schedule.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment per standards.
  • Attend trainings and travel to locations as required.
