Job summary

Break Time Food Service Manager with MFA Petroleum Company oversees day-to-day operations of formal food service programs, ensuring profitability, inventory, and labor control while maintaining high food safety standards. You will lead a team, train staff, and ensure excellent customer service across shifts.

Responsibilities include managing merchandising, food prep, cleanliness, and strong communication with management, vendors, and customers.

Qualifications

• 18 years of age or older
• Flexible availability including all shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Ability and willingness to attend adequate food safety training and obtain a Food Handler’s Card or equivalent certifications
• ServeSafe certified or able to complete course and pass test
• Ability to perform duties with accuracy and minimal supervision
• Physical ability to move and position products in cooler/freezer
• Able to stand for up to nine hours per shift
• Ability to learn new concepts, use technical materials, and operate computers
• Willingness to ascend/descend ladders to handle inventory
• Speak/read/write/understand English to communicate effectively
• Successful pre-employment background check and drug test
• Legal authorization to work in the United States
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Prior food service experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet and thank customers; provide fast and friendly service; handle complaints promptly
• Promote sales using suggestive selling techniques
• Follow food preparation guidelines; ensure proper time/temperature; manage inventory
• Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of equipment and service areas
• Train and supervise employees on prep and execution of food service programs
• Develop weekly labor schedules to stay within budget; monitor labor costs
• Communicate with customers, vendors, employees, and management as needed
• Assist with recruiting, training, and developing a team; maintain professional conduct
• Use POS systems and other store tech; perform shift reporting and record-keeping
• Ensure compliance with policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements
