Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission - Food Service Manager II position located at Austin State Supported Living Center is seeking an experienced supervisor to oversee daily food service operations, training, and safety compliance.

The role requires knowledge of procurement, inventory, and HACCP standards, with responsibilities spanning from receiving to serving meals. A valid Texas driver’s license and a Food Manager certification (or ability to obtain within 2 months) are essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or equivalent is required.
• Minimum two years’ experience in the food service department.
• Texas driver’s license by hire date is required.
• Texas Food Manager certification or ability to obtain within 2 months of hire.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and work in hot/cold conditions.

Responsibilities

• Oversees daily procurement of food and supplies.
• Receives, stores, and distributes food and supplies safely.
• Plans, assigns, and supervises staff; ensures competency-based training.
• Monitors HACCP program, sanitation, and food safety regulations.
• Oversees food service from production to resident service.
• May work extended hours, weekends or holidays.
• Maintains records and prepares routine reports.
• Operates state vehicles to transport food as needed.
