Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Denton is seeking a Food Service Worker II to perform moderately complex food service tasks in the Central Kitchen or satellite areas. You will prepare, portion, and serve food for regular and therapeutic diets, while ensuring sanitation and safety standards are met.

The role requires willingness to work weekends/holidays and to follow HACCP procedures. A valid Texas driver’s license is preferred and a fingerprint background check is required.

Qualifications

• Paid or unpaid experience in food service work.
• Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent; high school diploma preferred.
• Preferred: 6 months experience in food service work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, portion, and serve food for regular and therapeutic diets.
• Maintain sanitation of kitchen, equipment and serving areas.
• Train or assist in training new food service employees.
• May require weekend/holiday work and extended hours.
• Receive deliveries of food and supplies and complete related paperwork.
