Job Responsibilities

• Supervises all food preparation and service operations.
• Assists with the selection of cooks and kitchen assistants.
• Develops weekly menus and meals that are nutritionally complete and accommodate special dietary needs or restrictions.
• Procures food and supplies and monitors expenses.
• Maintains inventory of all kitchen materials and equipment, submits orders for replacement when needed.
• Schedules and supervises kitchen assistants and cooks.
• Ensures food preparation, service and storage comply with NYSDOH regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum age of 18 years as required by the NYS Department of Health.
• Current Suffolk County Department of Health Food Manager Certificate.
• 1-2 years of experience with increasing responsibility in a kitchen.
