Job summary

UPMC East in Monroeville is seeking a Full Time Food Service Host to support the Dietary and Cafeteria department. Shifts include 5:30am-2pm, 7am-3:30pm, 7:30am-4pm, 10am-6:30pm, with rotating weekends/holidays.

Responsibilities include delivering meals, maintaining food safety, and providing excellent customer service to patients and guests. Preferred candidates have food service or customer service experience and are flexible with shifts.

Qualifications

• Preferred candidates will be available for all shifts and will have strong work history with customer service or food service experience.
• Demonstrates strong customer service and communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures on a consistent basis when interacting with customers.
• Adheres to department procedures regarding the operation of all food service equipment.
• Communicates customer complaints and concerns effectively with other health care team members.
• Performs sanitation for assigned work area in accordance with departmental procedures and health department guidelines.
• Serves patient meal tray using the designated department script, to include proper patient identification.
• Distributes and collects menus from patients; obtains selected menus from patients according to departmental procedures.
• Displays customer service skills when responding to meal service requests, resulting in a satisfied customer.
• Serves meals within established timeframes, adhering to departmental standards for appearance, food quality, and temperature control.
