Job summary

UPMC East is seeking a Casual Food Service Host to support the Dietary and Cafeteria department. The role involves delivering meals, assisting patients, and upholding food safety and customer service standards in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires flexibility for multiple shifts, including early mornings, with emphasis on guest satisfaction and safe, timely service. Prior food service or customer service experience is preferred to ensure quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to hand hygiene and infection control procedures when interacting with customers.
• Operates department food service equipment following procedures.
• Communicates customer complaints to health care team members.
• Performs sanitation for the assigned work area per department guidelines.
• Serves patient meals with proper patient identification using the department script.
• Distributes and collects menus from patients and records selections.
• Demonstrates strong customer service during meal service requests.
• Ensures meals are served within established timeframes with proper appearance and temperature.
