Job summary

The Pavilion at Queens is seeking an experienced Food Service Director to lead the Dietary Department at our skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility in Flushing, Queens. You will manage menu planning, food safety, staffing, inventory, and regulatory compliance to ensure high-quality resident meals.

Ideal candidates have prior Food Service Director or Dietary Director experience in long-term care, with strong leadership and a solid understanding of DOH requirements.

Qualifications

• CDM certification preferred or required.
• Experience as Food Service Director or Dietary Director in long-term care.
• Strong knowledge of DOH regulations and food safety.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily dietary operations including meal preparation and service.
• Coordinate menus and ensure proper portions and special dietary needs.
• Ensure compliance with DOH/state/federal regulations and food safety standards.
• Monitor sanitation and cleanliness of kitchens and storage areas.
• Manage inventory, purchasing, and budget for department.
• Schedule, train, supervise, and evaluate dietary staff.
• Address resident and family concerns regarding food quality and service.
