Eleanor Nursing Care Center in Hyde Park, NY is seeking a Director of Dietary Services to lead our Food Service Department and ensure exceptional dining experiences while upholding the highest standards of food quality, safety, and resident satisfaction.

This hands-on leader will manage daily operations, recruit and coach staff, collaborate with nursing, and step in as cook or aide when needed. Competitive salary and comprehensive benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service, quantity food production, dietary management, and staff supervision.
• Specialized training in Food Service Management and Nutrition preferred.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee all daily operations of the Dietary Department.
• Ensure meals are prepared and served in accordance with facility menus and regulations.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, sanitation, customer service, and resident satisfaction.
• Recruit, train, coach, and mentor dietary staff while promoting teamwork and accountability.
• Monitor inventory, food safety practices, and department budgets.
• Conduct routine kitchen rounds to ensure quality, cleanliness, and compliance.
• Plan and conduct staff in-services and ongoing education.
• Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary departments to meet residents’ dietary needs.
• Step in to assist as a cook, dietary aide, or dishwasher when needed due to staffing shortages or call-outs.
