The Food Preparation Coordinator at AltaMed Health Services in Los Angeles, CA will oversee all food services, including breakfast, lunch, home meals, and events, ensuring safe handling, storage, and serving per CACFP and regulatory standards.

The role leads kitchen staff daily, maintains compliance records, and supports site operations. Bilingual abilities are preferred, with a Food Protection Manager certificate required or obtained within 90 days.

Qualifications

• A Food Protection Manager certificate from an ANSI-accredited training provider meeting ASTM E2659-09 is required or must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Bilingual English/Spanish/Mandarin/Cantonese, depending on site demographics, is preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ foodservice experience preferred.
• Experience leading or managing foodservice operations preferred.
• A valid BLS certification or higher is preferred per AHA/Red Cross guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate all food services, including breakfast, lunch, home meals, center snacks, and special events.
• Oversee daily kitchen staff duties to ensure proper receipt, storage, preparation, serving, and disposal of food.
• Maintain records to comply with CACFP, internal policies, and regulatory guidance.
