Summary

Organization: Carpenter Hotel

The Role

Reporting to the F&B General Manager, the Server Assistant will assist food service employees in delivering food to tables, maintaining cleanliness, attending to needs behind the bar, cleaning tables, carrying dirty dishes, replacing soiled table linens, setting tables, replenishing supplies of clean linens, silverware, glassware, and dishes, and serving water, appetizers, and coffee to patrons.

Responsibilities include:

• Adhering to dress code policies during shifts
• Performing serving, cleaning, and stocking duties to facilitate customer service
• Responding promptly to guest comments and concerns, informing supervisors, and assisting with corrective actions
• Maintaining adequate supplies such as linens, silverware, glassware, dishes, and trays
• Ensuring beverage and ice dispensers, cabinets, and serving areas are stocked
• Replenishing food and equipment at service bars and satellite stations
• Stocking refrigerating units with wines and bottled beers and replacing empty kegs
• Setting tables with linens, condiments, and supplies
• Scraping and stacking dirty dishes, transporting them to the kitchen for cleaning
• Cleaning tables, counters, shelves, walls, furniture, and equipment, and mopping floors
• Washing glasses and serving equipment at bars
• Cleaning spills, broken dishes, and removing trash and empty bottles
• Serving water, coffee, and standard appetizers to patrons
• Maintaining communication with all departments and management to meet hotel needs
• Ensuring cleanliness and safety in the work area
• Maintaining equipment in good working condition
• Being aware of safety issues and emergency procedures, including OSHA requirements
• Attending relevant meetings and adhering to policies and procedures

Qualifications

Experience Required:

• Six (6) months of related experience in hospitality or service industry
• Ability to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language(s) of the workplace
• Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures manuals
