Minimum Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited high school or equivalent, plus two years of experience as a journeyman carpenter.
• Experience may substitute for education up to four (4) years.

Licenses or Certifications

• Texas Class C Operator’s License or ability to obtain one within 90 days of hire.

Pay and Schedule

Pay Range: $22.22 - $24.77

Hours: 8-hour shifts, Monday - Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., schedule may vary, OT may be required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in commercial or municipal carpentry, including framing, drywall, finish work.
• Knowledge of building codes, ADA, OSHA standards.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Skilled in carpentry tools, concrete formwork, woodworking.
• Strong problem-solving skills.

Essential Duties

Perform skilled carpentry, operate tools, install and repair structures, read blueprints, record data, and measure materials.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of materials, procedures, building codes, safety practices.
• Skill in blueprints, estimating, and effective communication.
• Ability to operate City vehicles and equipment safely.
