Job summary

Carolina CoPacking is seeking a Food Scientist Intern to assist the food science team in developing and refining formulations for current and future products. You will help scale up recipes, calculate ingredient percentages, and communicate with customers about initial recipes, pricing, and sampling.

The role requires interpreting findings, taking direction from management, and collaborating with other departments and customers.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in Food Science or Food Engineering program.
• Laboratory work experience or coursework.
• Understanding of food data science concepts.
• Willingness to travel overnight and work nights/weekends for projects.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and refining formulations for products.
• Scale up recipes and calculate ingredient percentages.
• Communicate initial recipe data, pricing information, and sampling with customers.
• Update product information sheets and labels for sales use.
• Coordinate shipment of sales samples and maintain data records.
• Ensure GMP compliance and safety standards.
