Job summary

Sysco Northeast RDC is seeking a Manager, Food Safety Program to lead and sustain the site’s food safety strategy across 1-4 operating sites. The role drives HACCP plans, preventive controls, and recalls while coordinating with operations, EHS, QA and regulatory bodies to ensure ongoing compliance and continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will oversee training, internal audits, and stakeholder communications, ensuring timely corrective actions and robust food safety performance

Qualifications

• High school or GED equivalent is required.
• Associate or bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, or related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of food safety regulations and HACCP principles.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site food safety program and ensure compliance with FDA, FSMA, and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee audits by GFSI, external auditors, and customers; drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.
• Manage product recalls and coordinate with regulators, customers, and internal teams.
• Develop and implement site-level food safety training and culture initiatives.
• Collaborate with Operations, EHS, Finance, Sales and HR to align food safety KPIs and actions.
