Evans Hotels is seeking a part-time Food Runner for Dockside 1953 in Bahia Resort Hotel, San Diego. You will deliver meals from the kitchen to tables, attend to beverages, and maintain orderly service areas to ensure a positive dining experience.

Qualifications include 1-2 years in a hotel/food service, San Diego County Food Handler certification, and RBS. Availability on weekends/holidays is required; benefits include health plans and dining perks.

Summary

The Food Runner ("Asistente de Mesero/a") assists the Food Servers in the performance of their duties to achieve complete customer satisfaction and ensures the creation of successful dining experience for our guests.

Essential Duties

• During meal period, runs food from the kitchen to the guest's table.
• Fills and maintains filling water glasses and coffee mugs at the guests' tables.
• Inspects all table setting ensuring the set-up is proper and complete, silver is clean and free of spots, condiments containers are clean and free of food debris.
• Maintains service storeroom, ensuring everything is clean and organized.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

Qualifications

• At least 1-2 years of relevant experience and/or training.
• A combination of experience, education, and/or training may be substituted for either requirement.
• Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company’s expense.
• RBS certification required.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
• The following position will be filled in accordance with the process set forth in California Labor Code Section 2810.8 and San Diego Municipal Code 311.0101 et. seq.
