Job summary

Evans Hotels’ Catamaran Resort in San Diego, CA invites an energetic Busser to join our restaurant team. This part-time role supports water glass replenishment, table clearance, and stocking, ensuring a smooth guest dining experience.

Ideal candidates have 3–6 months hospitality or food-service experience, weekend/holiday availability, and the ability to lift up to 25 lbs. San Diego County Food Handler certification (employer-paid) and RBS certification are required upon hire.

Qualifications

• 3–6 months of relevant experience or training in hospitality or food service.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays.
• Must obtain San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire (employer-paid).
• RBS certification required.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Maintains clean and organized workstations in the restaurant and kitchen.
• Maintains established par stocks of china, glass, silver, linen napkins, and paper supplies.
• During meal periods, fills and maintains water glasses and coffee mugs at guests’ tables.
• Clears and resets tables promptly and properly.
• Maintains service storeroom and reach-in refrigerators; keeps area clean and stocked.
• Performs additional duties as directed by leadership.

SUMMARY

The Busser (\"Ayudante de Mesero/a\") assists the Food Servers in the performance of their duties to achieve complete customer satisfaction and ensures the creation of a successful dining experience for our guests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

• Maintains clean and organized workstations in the restaurant and kitchen.
• Maintains established par stocks of china, glass, silver, linen napkins, and paper supplies at all times.
• During meal period, fills and maintains filling water glasses and coffee mugs at the guests' tables.
• Clears and resets tables promptly and properly as needed.
• Maintains service storeroom, reach-in refrigerators, ensuring everything is clean and organized, stock is rotated, floors and walls are clean and that nothing is stored directly on the floor.
• Performs additional duties and responsibilities as directed by the leadership team.

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3-6 months of relevant experience and/or training.
• Previous similar position in a hotel, or similar business entity preferred.
• Availability to work on weekends and holidays is required.
• Must be able to attain a valid San Diego County Food Handler certification upon hire. Evans Hotels will provide this training and is to be completed at the company's expense.
• RBS Certification required.
• Ability to always maintain a friendly, professional, team-oriented, positive demeanor and diplomatic attitude, especially under stress or challenges.
• Ability to stand, kneel, squat for prolonged periods of time, up to and including, the entire shift and lift up to 25 lbs.
