Job summary

YMCA Nir Family YMCA in Wilmington, NC is seeking a Food Services Coordinator to support CACFP and SFSP sponsorships, oversee reporting, and coordinate food ordering and distribution. You’ll work with cross-functional site teams to ensure compliance, training, and readiness for weekly operations.

The role emphasizes program growth, collaboration, and adherence to state requirements while supporting the YMCA Annual Campaign and community meals.

Qualifications

• One year’s experience with the Child and Adult Care Food Program and/or Summer Food Service Program in an administrative capacity.
• At least 21 years of age and / or training significant for the YMCA program.
• CPR, First Aid, AED certifications within 30 days of hire date.
• Three years experience working with afterschool and summer camp programs in a developmental setting preferred. Supervisory experience is a plus.
• Ability to work well with people and a sensitivity to the needs of children and families.
• Computer skills and knowledge of windows, excel, adobe and word at an intermediate or advanced level.
• Ability to correctly and effectively communicate in written and oral English.

Responsibilities

• Support CACFP and SFSP sponsorships including training, meal counts, and claims.
• Coordinate food ordering and distribution using enrollment data and weekly charts.
• Manage shelf-stable CACFP/SFSP inventory, including share-table items and delivery.
• Ensure timely CACFP reporting by verifying attendance and meal-count forms.
• Maintain site meal-count sheets, menus, labor sheets, and sanitation reports.
• Lead SFSP rural non-congregate meal distribution and vehicle loading.
• Conduct CACFP/SFSP site monitoring and upload reviews for second-level review.
• Support staff development through training and team meetings.
• Contribute ideas to expand food programs beyond afterschool and summer camps.
• Adapt to program needs and assist in YMCA Annual Campaign.
