Job summary

Operation Food Search is seeking a Child Nutrition Specialist to oversee CACFP and SFSP programs, ensuring compliance with USDA and DHSS guidelines. You will manage meal tracking, documentation, and partner communications while driving program efficiency and quality in a hunger-relief organization.

Ideal candidates will have a background in social services or public health, with experience in compliance-based programming and at least two years in community programs.

Qualifications

• Educational background in field related to Social Services, Public Health, Public Policy, Business Administration, Management, Nutrition, or a related field preferred.
• Two years’ relevant work experience in community-based programs, program planning, or hunger-relief efforts is highly preferred.
• Experience in compliance-based programming is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee CACFP and SFSP daily operations including ordering, meal tracking, and documentation collection.
• Maintain USDA program records, meal counts, delivery tickets, attendance, inspections, and partner agreements.
• Develop and recommend CACFP/SFSP policies, procedures, and standards.
• Lead compliance audits and regulatory reviews to meet USDA and DHSS requirements.
• Prepare documents for reimbursement claims to ensure timely funding.
• Analyze reimbursement trends and the program’s financial performance.
• Recruit, train, and manage the Child Nutrition Summer Intern.
• Create CACFP/SFSP menus compliant with DHSS requirements.
• Make independent program administration decisions within guidelines.
