Job summary

Batchline Solutions is seeking a Purchasing Coordinator for our East Coast distribution center in Westampton, NJ. The role collaborates across Procurement, Operations, and R&D to source ingredients, packaging, and supplies that align with production schedules and quality standards.

The position requires a Bachelor’s in Food Science or related field and 3+ years in food labeling compliance/regulatory affairs. Travel up to 20-30% is expected to support cross-site procurement activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Nutrition, Regulatory Affairs, or equivalent work experience.
• 3+ years of experience in food labeling compliance and regulatory affairs within the food manufacturing industry.
• Strong working knowledge of FDA and USDA food labeling regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and project management skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Procurement Manager to execute purchasing strategies across both NJ and CA locations.
• Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain best quality, pricing, and delivery terms.
• Place and manage purchase orders in accordance with production schedules, inventory levels, and forecasted needs.
• Monitor and track open orders, ensuring timely delivery and resolve supply delays or quality issues.
• Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other procurement activities in the ERP system.
• Build and maintain relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders across departments.
• Collaborate with operations, R&D, and quality assurance to meet specifications and food safety standards.
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and support supplier consolidation and evaluation initiatives.
• Stay up to date on market trends, pricing changes, and new product availability in the food manufacturing supply chain.
