Job summary

Smith & Wollensky in Chicago seeks a Restaurant Manager to lead the Front of House operations. You will hire, train, schedule, coach, and discipline staff, ensuring excellent service and compliance with safety standards.

This role requires ServSafe certification, a hospitality degree (preferred) or equivalent, and solid guest-relations skills. You will manage guest concerns, collaborate with the GM on inventory and budgeting, and guide a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Hospitality degree preferred; high school diploma required.
• ServSafe Food and Alcohol Certification required.
• Prior restaurant or hospitality experience is required.

Responsibilities

• Directs and mentors the FOH service team, including hiring, scheduling, and discipline.
• Ensures training, coaching, and certification compliance across staff.
• Reviews performance and conducts regular team meetings.
• Handles guest complaints promptly and professionally; strives for guest satisfaction.
• Manages inventory and ordering for FOH in collaboration with GM.
• Oversees labor costs and staffing levels per shift.
