About the Role

Our client, a leading distributor in the Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector, is seeking a diligent and organized FMCG Logistics Coordinator to join their operational team. This role is based in Queenstown, Eastern Cape, offering a hybrid work model that combines on-site coordination with remote planning and analysis. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for managing and optimizing the flow of goods, ensuring efficient and timely delivery of products to various distribution points and retail clients. This position requires a strong understanding of logistics operations, inventory management, and transportation planning within the demanding FMCG environment. You will play a key role in coordinating shipments, managing warehouse activities, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. Your ability to problem-solve, adapt to changing demands, and maintain clear communication will be vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our client's supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily logistics operations, including shipping, receiving, and warehousing activities.
• Plan and schedule transportation routes and carrier assignments to ensure timely deliveries.
• Monitor inventory levels and manage stock control procedures to prevent shortages or overstocking.
• Liaise with suppliers, carriers, and customers to resolve any logistics-related issues.
• Ensure compliance with all transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory, and logistics costs.
• Utilize logistics software and systems to track shipments and manage operations.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
• Prepare reports on logistics performance, including delivery times, costs, and inventory accuracy.
• Collaborate with internal teams to forecast demand and plan resource allocation.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Logistics Coordinator or in a similar role within the FMCG or distribution industry.
• Strong knowledge of logistics operations, warehousing, and inventory management principles.
• Proficiency in using logistics software and ERP systems.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong problem-solveing abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a hybrid work arrangement.
• Familiarity with transportation regulations and best practices.
