Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an engineer to design fluid system hardware for the New Glenn program. You will develop fluid components, subsystems and documentation, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet performance and schedule targets.

You will perform FEA and fluid modeling, create CAD/ P&ID artifacts, and work with manufacturing to ensure quality and manufacturability of flight hardware. A strong background in propulsion fluids and aerospace experience is required.

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
  • 2+ years in aerospace propulsion or fluid systems.
  • Experience with 3D CAD programs (Creo preferred).
  • Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS preferred).
  • Experience with REFPROP, SINDA/FLUINT and Thermal Desktop or similar.
  • Experience with analysis/calculations of flow through components or systems.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (Green Card) or asylum status.

Responsibilities

  • Design fluid component hardware to meet cost, performance, and schedule constraints with guidance from senior engineers.
  • Design and route fluid subsystems (pressurization, pneumatics, coolant, propellant utilization).
  • Work with fluid components (solenoid valves, valves, regulators, vessels, instrumentation).
  • Perform FEA and fluid system modeling and analysis.
  • Create CAD models, P&ID, part drawings, assemblies, interfaces, and documentation.
