Job summary

Blue Origin in Los Angeles area is seeking an experienced engineer to contribute to fluid design for the New Glenn program. You will develop fluid subsystems, create CAD models, perform analyses, and generate test plans for flight hardware within a multi-disciplinary team.

The role emphasizes collaboration, quality, and iterative design under cost and schedule constraints, with responsibilities spanning development through production phases.

Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field.
  • 2+ years in aerospace propulsion or fluid subject area.
  • Experience with 3D CAD: Creo preferred; CATIA V5, SolidWorks, AutoDesk.
  • Experience with FEA tools to analyze pressurized systems.
  • Experience with fluid modeling software: REFPROP, SINDA/FLUINT, Thermal Desktop.
  • Knowledge of propulsion and fluid components (valves, regulators, pressure vessels).
  • U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

  • Design fluid components to meet cost, performance, and schedule constraints.
  • Design and route fluid subsystems (pressurization, pneumatics, coolant, propellant utilization).
  • Create CAD models, P&ID, and detailed drawings.
  • Perform FEA and fluid system analyses.
  • Develop test plans and documentation for flight hardware.
  • Engage with manufacturing and support cross-functional teams.
