About the Position
We are currently looking for a skilled Fluid Power Technician to handle the installation, assembly, maintenance, and diagnostics of hydraulic and pneumatic systems. The successful applicant will possess a high level of mechanical proficiency, the ability to interpret complex fluid power diagrams, and a commitment to working autonomously while upholding rigorous safety and quality standards.
Core Responsibilities
- Construct machinery in alignment with engineering specifications, design plans, and client needs.
- Execute the installation of hydraulic and pneumatic hoses, tubing, and piping systems.
- Diagnose and resolve issues within fluid power circuits to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Analyze and translate mechanical and fluid power schematics and blueprints.
- Recognize various hardware fittings and display proficiency with standard fluid power symbology.
- Record and report any technical challenges or design modifications encountered during the assembly phase.
- Execute assigned duties with a high degree of independence.
- Provide regular updates to the project team regarding build status and any outstanding technical concerns.
- Help uphold and implement quality and ISO compliance protocols to ensure consistent output.
- Contribute to project success by prioritizing cost-efficiency, product quality, timeline adherence, and client satisfaction.
- Help maintain a safe, tidy, and efficient workspace for the entire team.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in the fluid power industry.
- Vocational training in a related field is considered an asset.
- Possession of a journeyman's card is preferred.
- Proficiency in schematic reading, pipe threading, fitting identification, and fluid power symbols.
- Proven mechanical ability with a dedication to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Capacity to execute tasks both collaboratively and independently based on project direction.
- Ability to maintain productivity while performing physical tasks like bending, kneeling, or climbing.
- Capability to lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
- Must supply your own toolbox and hand tools; a list of required items will be supplied.
Training and Certifications
Staff members are expected to acquire the following certifications during their tenure:
- Aerial lift platform usage
- Overhead crane operation
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures
Travel Requirements
- Expect to travel for at least 20% of your scheduled time.
- Assignments may involve both domestic and international travel based on project needs.
