Job description

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer (Fluid Power) to design, develop, and support custom hydraulic systems, manifolds, power units, and integrated electro-hydraulic solutions for OEM and industrial customers. In this role you will collaborate closely with sales, customers, production, and suppliers to develop practical, manufacturable, and cost-effective fluid power solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Directly support customers and sales engineers to define system requirements, costs and technical specifications
• Design hydraulic circuits, manifold systems, and power units
• Develop integrated hydraulic and electro-hydraulic systems
• Create hydraulic schematics and general arrangement drawings using AutoCAD
• Generate bills of material (BOMs) for production release
• Assist in quoting custom manifolds, power units, and assemblies
• Support prototype builds and validate design intent
• Troubleshoot hydraulic system issues during assembly
• Approve layout and assembly of hydraulic power units and manifolds
• Document engineering changes and revisions
• Support system testing and validation (pressure, flow, performance verification)
• Assist with on-site startup, troubleshooting and commissioning when required
• Identify cost-reduction and performance-improvement opportunities
• 15–25% domestic travel for customer visits and commissioning

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline Or Associate degree in Fluid Power, Engineering Technology, or related technical field
• 3–7+ years of experience in hydraulic system design, application engineering, or fluid power distribution
• Strong understanding of hydraulic components and system architecture
• Ability to read, interpret, and create hydraulic schematics
• AutoCAD, Creo experience required
• Working knowledge of electrical controls or electro-hydraulic systems preferred
