Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation in Oshkosh, WI is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist Engineers in the Design or Research & Development teams. You will help to develop component and system designs, perform failure analysis, and support vehicle testing.

Responsibilities include creating vehicle component layouts in CATIA or CREO, selecting components for weight, cost and reliability, and collaborating with suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.

Qualifications

Pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
Interest in Fluid Power (hydraulics and/or pneumatics).
Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the duration of the summer 2027 internship. Summer housing is available to interns whose permanent address is greater than 50 miles from their work location.

Responsibilities

Assist Engineers with mechanical engineering tasks in Design or Research & Development teams.
Develop component and system designs and perform failure analysis.
Support vehicle component and performance testing.
Prepare vehicle component layouts using CATIA, CREO, or other CAD software.
Generate engineering calculations for weight distribution, stress analysis, and performance estimations.
Consult with suppliers, customers, and internal departments to find solutions.
