Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to assist Engineers in the Design or Research & Development teams. You will help to develop component and system designs, determine failure trends, perform failure analysis, or support vehicle component and performance testing.

You will gain hands-on experience with CATIA and CREO, evaluate weight, cost and reliability, and collaborate with suppliers and internal teams to drive solutions.

Qualifications

Interest in fluid power (hydraulics and/or pneumatics).
Student working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or related Engineering field.
Willing to travel or relocate to Oshkosh, WI for the duration of the summer 2027 internship.

Responsibilities

Assist Engineers with mechanical engineering tasks in Design or R&D teams.
Develop component and system designs and perform failure analysis or support testing.
Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD tools and analyze weight, cost, and reliability.
Collaborate with suppliers, customers and internal teams to resolve issues.
Generate engineering calculations for weight distribution and performance estimations.
Support testing of vehicles or components and develop reliability models.
Create test plans, supervise fixtures, and monitor testing progress.
