Job summary

Oshkosh Corporation's Frontline Communications division is seeking an engineering intern to assist a broad range of engineers with mechanical engineering tasks. You will support design, production, and testing activities on vehicle components.

You will use CATIA or similar CAD tools, help select parts for weight, cost and reliability, and contribute on the assembly floor with prototype, pilot, or production builds. Strong communication and team collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Assist a variety of engineers with mechanical engineering tasks.
• Prepare vehicle component layouts using CAD software (CATIA).
• Select parts for weight, cost, reliability and manufacturability.
• Support on assembly floor for prototype, pilot or production builds.
• Generate engineering calculations (weight, stress, performance).
• Consult with suppliers, customers and internal teams to solve problems.
• Assist in testing of vehicles or components.
• Create and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECN) using PLM systems.
• Design, model and test new mechanical subsystems for vehicles.
• Update bills of materials in PDM systems.
