Job summary

Labcorp in Durham, NC is hiring a Laboratory Technician to join our team on a Tue-Sat 6am-2:30pm schedule. Responsibilities include specimen screening, performing procedures per SOPs, instrument troubleshooting, and reporting results with a focus on patient care.

Requirements include an Associate’s degree in a chemical/biological science or Medical Technology and preferred ASCP/AMT certification. Strong detail orientation and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in chemical/biological science or clinical lab science.
• Experience with standard operating procedures and compliance.
• Strong attention to detail and good communication.

Responsibilities

• Determine specimen acceptability for testing.
• Perform routine and complex procedures per SOPs.
• Operate and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
• Prepare, test and evaluate reagents and controls.
• Report accurate test results to ensure quality patient care.
• Perform preventative maintenance and quality control tasks.
• Replenish testing bench supplies as needed.
• Assist with specimen processing when required.
• Maintain a safe work environment and PPE compliance.
