Job summary

Labcorp in Burlington, NC seeks a Technologist to join our team. The role features a Friday–Monday 3pm–1:30am schedule and involves testing verification, instrument operation, and maintaining quality control to support accurate patient results.

The candidate will perform routine and complex procedures, troubleshoot equipment, and collaborate with the team while ensuring safety and compliance with SOPs. ASCP/AMT certification is preferred, and a MLS degree is welcomed for advancement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology
• 1 year of clinical laboratory testing experience or MLS degree
• ASCP or AMT certification preferred

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental SOPs
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear PPE
