Job summary

Labcorp in Durham, NC is seeking a Technologist to join a busy clinical laboratory. The role involves testing specimens, operating instruments, and ensuring accurate results to support patient care. Schedule: Tue-Sat 1:00 PM to 9:30 PM.

Qualified candidates hold a related bachelor’s degree, MLS or equivalent experience, and ASCP/AMT certification is preferred. The team emphasizes accuracy, safety, and collaboration in a high-volume lab environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a Chemical or Biological science, Clinical Laboratory Science or Medical Technology required.
• 1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience OR an MLS degree required.

Responsibilities

• Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
• Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
• Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving
• Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
• Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
• Perform and document preventative maintenance and quality control procedures
• Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
• Assist with processing of specimens when needed
• Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment

Education
