Job summary

University of California, San Francisco seeks a senior supervisor to lead the Flow Cytometry laboratory's technical operations. You will enforce SOPs, oversee instrumentation, and ensure QA standards across the unit.

You will manage staff, train CLS/HLT personnel, validate new tests, coordinate with vendors and LIS, and ensure CAP surveys are completed on schedule while maintaining high-quality clinical service.

Qualifications

• California CLS license required.
• Two years of recent CLS experience in Flow Cytometry.
• Knowledge of laboratory concepts, procedures and safety.
• Ability to organize staff and laboratory operations efficiently.
• Strong documentation and SOP-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Flow Cytometry lab technical operations and enforce SOPs.
• Supervise staff productivity, downtime reduction, and instrument maintenance.
• Oversee training of CLS/HLT and trainees; establish schedules and checklists.
• Oversee new test validation, procedure updates and go-live coordination with vendors and LIS.
• Ensure departmental compliance, CAP surveys, quality control, and timely reporting.
• Perform administrative duties: scheduling, performance evaluations, and timesheet approvals.
