Job summary

Langan is seeking an Environmental Practice Lead in Florida for our Environmental Compliance / EHS practice. This role can be based in Tampa, Orlando, Miami, Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach, or Jacksonville, and involves leading environmental compliance services across the state and supporting national practice.

You will leverage Langan’s technical expertise to be the technical project lead for diverse projects, building a regional team and client base with support from national experts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related field; Master’s preferred.
• 12+ years in environmental field with minimum 5 years as a project manager in a consulting environment.
• Professional certification preferred (e.g.: PE, CHMM, CSP, CIH).
• Knowledge of Federal and Florida environmental regulations and obligations.
• Willingness to engage in business development and cross-sell services.
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
• Ability to manage multiple clients, projects, and staff across media/geographies.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct and manage environmental compliance projects from start to finish, including proposal development and delivery.
• Oversee deliverables under air, wastewater, stormwater, SPCC, EPCRA, and related programs.
• Develop permitting strategies for industrial development projects with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Serve as senior SME for EHS and compliance services; conduct audits and negotiate permit terms.
• Lead and develop a team of environmental compliance staff; coaching and mentoring.
• Manage project financials: proposals, change orders, invoicing, collections; monitor staff utilization.
• Identify new clients and opportunities; expand work within Florida and nationally; support business development.
• Maintain leadership roles in industry organizations and coordinate cross-office work groups.
