Job summary

The Kroger Family of Companies is seeking a Store Associate in the Floral department to assist customers, design and merchandise floral items, and process orders. You will greet customers, handle phone orders, and keep the department organized and well-stocked.

Responsibilities include creating arrangements, packaging orders, maintaining signage and cleanliness, and operating the cash register. Flexible weekend/holiday availability is required; safety and accuracy are emphasized in all tasks.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and oral communication required.
• Able to read shelf tags, signs, product labels, training materials, and bulletins.
• Capable of multi-tasking, set priorities, present information in a professional manner and work with all levels of the organization.
• Personal initiative and follow through to completion.
• Team player in a fast-paced environment.
• Abilities for production, merchandising, and customer service related to sale of merchandise.
• Safe use of cleaning solutions and operation of production equipment.

Responsibilities

• Assist and greet customers promptly and provide them with great service.
• Help design and create floral arrangements and/or other items to fill customer orders.
• Package orders effectively, safely and efficiently.
• Keep merchandise and supplies in their proper areas.
• Maintain customer records and files properly.
• Assist customers in locating and selecting items.
• Handle telephone calls and orders promptly and courteously.
• Assist in decorating and merchandising the department.
• Keep carts, tools, and supplies organized in designated areas.
• Maintain floors clean, safe, and free from clutter.
• Maintain plants, process and prepare flower arrangements and fill balloons.
• Maintain proper signage, product rotation, freshness, quantity, quality and space allocation.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, and safety laws.
• Operate cash register in accordance with procedures.
• Fulfill weekends/holidays as needed.
