Job summary

Topaz HR Advisory is seeking an Outside Sales Representative to promote flooring products across New Jersey. You will prospect, build relationships with contractors, installers, retailers, and other customers, and travel within assigned territories to generate new business.

The role requires strong communication and presentation skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently with a defined sales plan.

Qualifications

• Previous outside sales experience, preferably in flooring, building materials, construction supplies, or a related industry.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with a customer-focused approach.
• Self-motivated, organized, and results-driven, with the ability to work independently and manage an assigned territory.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Reliable transportation and willingness to travel regularly throughout assigned territories.
• Ability to quickly learn product specifications, applications, and industry trends.
• Experience working with contractors, installers, flooring retailers, or distributors is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Actively prospect and develop new business opportunities with flooring contractors, installers, retailers, and other potential customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and repeat business.
• Conduct in-person sales visits, product presentations, and demonstrations to promote flooring products and related materials.
• Identify customer needs and recommend appropriate products and solutions.
• Collaborate with the internal sales team to ensure customer needs are met and orders are handled efficiently.
• Stay informed on flooring industry trends, product offerings, pricing, and competitor activity.
• Meet and exceed sales goals while regularly reporting on sales activities, pipeline development, and customer relationships.
• Manage an assigned sales territory, including planning customer visits and identifying opportunities for continued growth.
