Responsibilities

• Perform floor and carpet care duties (scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, mopping).
• Review assignments with Supervisor.
• Gather required equipment and products.
• Wear safety belts while performing assignments.
• Inform lead person of completed assignments.
• Record time worked and products used.
• Use wet floor signs at all times.
• Report problems to lead person immediately.
• Adhere to safety rules and company policies.
• Maintain company vehicles in safe, neat condition.
• Attend periodic training and safety meetings.
• Follow directions and use building maps to locate work areas.
• Maintain punctuality.

Job Summary

The role is to keep all building facilities clean and orderly at all times, ensuring optimal cleanliness throughout the organization.

Essential Functions

• Perform floor and carpet care duties, including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and mopping.
• Review assignments with Supervisor.
• Gather required equipment and products.
• Wear safety belts while performing each assignment.
• Inform lead person of completed assignments.
• Record time worked and products used.
• Use wet floor signs at all times, including work on carpets and tile.
• Report any problems or situations that prevent completion or result in substandard work immediately to the lead person.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations at all times.
• Maintain company vehicles in a safe, neat, and orderly condition.
• Perform any other related duties as directed by senior management.
• Maintain neat appearance and wear a clean, neatly worn uniform at all times.
• Attend periodic training and safety meetings.
• Follow directions and instructions accurately.
• Use building maps to locate work areas.
• Maintain punctuality.

Knowledge and Skills

• Understanding of floor care equipment such as automatic scrubbers, buffers, shampoo machines, extractors, wet vacuums, carpet pile lifters, and vacuums.
• Knowledge of proper use and application of floor care products.
• Good listening and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to speak English (some positions require this).

Education and Work Experience

High School Diploma or GED equivalent with 1‑3 years of experience in commercial facilities and building maintenance.

Work Environment

• Small‑ to large‑office setting.
• Safety glasses required during certain tasks.
• Fast‑paced office environment.
• Moderate noise levels.
• Exposure to dust, odors, oil, fumes, and shop noise.

Requirements

Must pass criminal background checks and possess a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.

Physical Demands

• Stand, walk, sit, and use hands for extended periods.
• Reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed.
• Listen, speak, and adjust focus for eye‑tasking duties.
• Occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds and install rigging or lifting devices safely.
• Maintain close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
