Job Summary

Staff will be required to perform the necessary work to maintain the optimum level of cleanliness in every building or worksite serviced by FlagShip Facility Services, Inc.

Essential Functions

• Floor work and carpet care duties, including scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and mopping.
• Review assignments with Supervisor.
• Gather necessary equipment and products.
• Wear safety belts while performing each work assignment.
• Inform lead person of completed assignments.
• Record time worked and products used.
• Use wet floor signs at all times, including work on carpets and tile, with no exceptions.
• Report any problem or situation that prevents completion of an assignment or causes substandard work immediately.
• Adhere to all company safety rules and regulations at all times; violations can result in disciplinary action.
• Maintain company vehicles in safe, neat, and orderly condition.
• Perform any other related duty as directed by the president, vice‑president of operations, or operations manager.
• Maintain a neat appearance and a clean, neatly worn uniform at all times.
• Attend periodic training and safety meetings.
• Follow directions and perform work per instructions.
• Use building maps to locate work areas.
• Be punctual.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–3 years of experience in commercial facilities and building maintenance.
• Knowledge of basic floor care duties and responsibilities.
• Ability to operate floor care equipment, including automatic scrubber, buffer, shampoo machine, extractor, wet vacuum, carpet pile lifter, and vacuum.
• Knowledge of proper use and application of floor care products.
• Good listening and verbal communication skills.

Work Environment

Small‑to‑large office environment, fast paced, moderate noise level. Employees are exposed to dust, odors, oil, fumes, cleaning products, and shop environments.

Physical Demands

Repetitive movements include standing, walking, sitting, handling objects, reaching, climbing stairs, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, talking, and hearing. Employees must stand, walk, and sit for long periods and may occasionally lift up to 40 pounds of office and facilities equipment. Safe use of equipment is required. Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
