Job description

Description

Floor Manager / Front of House Lead

Good Neighbor

Good Neighbor is looking for an experienced, hospitality-minded Floor Manager / Front of House Lead to join our team.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who enjoys being on the floor, working alongside the team, connecting with guests, and helping create a restaurant that feels welcoming, organized, and fun to work in.

We're looking for someone who can see the whole room—someone who notices when the door needs help, a server is getting busy, a table needs attention, or communication between the kitchen and dining room could be better. You should be comfortable taking the lead when needed while also being willing to jump into any FOH position to keep service moving.

What You'll Do
  • Help lead and support the front-of-house team during service.
  • Maintain an active presence on the floor and keep an eye on the overall flow of the restaurant.
  • Work closely with servers, bartenders, hosts, bussers, expos, and the kitchen to keep service running smoothly.
  • Help manage reservations, walk-ins, seating, table pacing, and the flow of the dining room.
  • Step in wherever needed during busy periods.
  • Welcome guests and help make sure they're having a great experience.
  • Handle guest questions or concerns with warmth and good judgment.
  • Help lead pre-shift meetings and communicate specials, menu changes, reservations, events, and other important information.
  • Support opening and closing procedures and help make sure the restaurant is ready for service.
  • Keep an eye on cleanliness, organization, and the details that make the dining room feel cared for.
  • Help train and support new team members.
  • Communicate with the management team about the shift, guest feedback, staffing needs, and anything else that needs attention.
Who We're Looking For

You might be a great fit if you:

  • Have solid restaurant experience, ideally including some leadership, lead server, bartending, or management experience.
  • Genuinely enjoy hospitality and taking care of people.
  • Are comfortable in a busy, fast-moving restaurant.
  • Stay calm, organized, and approachable when things get hectic.
  • Communicate well with both guests and coworkers.
  • Naturally notice what needs to be done and aren't afraid to jump in.
  • Can provide direction while still feeling like part of the team.
  • Understand the importance of communication between the front and back of house.
  • Are dependable, punctual, and take pride in your work.
  • Care about the little details without losing sight of the bigger picture.
The Role

This isn't a position where you'll spend the shift standing on the sidelines.

Our Floor Manager is part of service. You'll be talking with guests, helping the host, running food or drinks, supporting the bar and servers, communicating with the kitchen, and helping the team navigate busy moments.

We're looking for someone who brings confidence without ego, takes hospitality seriously without making it stuffy, and understands that good leadership often means noticing what needs to be done and helping make it happen.

Most importantly, we want someone who cares about creating a restaurant where guests feel genuinely taken care of and the team enjoys coming to work.

Requirements
  • Previous restaurant experience required.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Availability for evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.
  • Ability to be on your feet and active throughout a shift.
  • Must meet applicable food safety and responsible beverage service requirements.
